Since 2010, Amristar has been proud to be an industry partner with Curtin University’s Software Engineering Capstone Projects. This allows final year students the opportunity to be mentored, guided and challenged by Amristar’s experienced technical team while gaining real world industry experience.
This year’s student project was “Ride With Me”, an online application designed to be a one stop shop for everything related to cycling events. This includes:
- Creation of events, including adding a description, date & time, max participant limit and drawing / uploading a route
- Searching and registering for events using search criteria or a map
- Live chat communication between organiser and participant
- Displaying relevant data such as weather and traffic incidents from 3rd party sources
- Safety alerts to the organiser on the day of the event if a participant falls too far behind the organiser
The students presented their finished application to rave reviews and have been nominated for an award.
